January 28 - February 3 Showcase

I know you just pulled yourself up off the floor from seeing who posted this! It's true I took an almost 4 month break from melting glass. I was starting to feel a little guilty about chatting on WC and not actually melting Glass! But as the flame does, it started calling me again and I decided not to dump the entire studio, which actually did cross my mind. I saw a very nice family room in our walk out basement to relax in for the summer!! I am an emotional melter, and lot's of crap had come down the road along with our son being deployed to the middle east which just didn't help getting my mojo rolling. But I think I have things under control again until the next landslide of crap!

So here are some simple things that came out of the kiln in the last couple of days. Time to PPP, and get some finer control back if the old eyes will let me and I have new glasses. That's scary! I will try to post on here more often!

Dilly

Dilly - So glad you felt ready to flame again, your flowers are scrumptious, I have to try that technique.

I've been torching, but not posting, so here's a couple of Wobbli from this week.

Great Beads Dilly! I thought I was the only one who felt guilty chatting when I was in a not in the mood to torch phase.
Red Gecko, amazing faces so expressive!
Rebecca, I'm still smiling at the octopus!! Nice.

I too took about 4 months off and just re-lit the torch last week. This weekend I strung trying to work my way out of the jungle and on to something else. Then it occurred to me valentines day is coming...

Beautiful beads everyone.

Dilly the detail work is exquisite.
Red the faces are a hoot
Rebecca neat octopus
Beth the animal print is very cool

Here is a piece I made in class.

The cup is the leftovers from when the bottom section of the vase was made. Again just seemed a shame to waste the color.

Everything looks great. Here is the alternate view I promised of the "Genesis of a Caress" piece. I reposted the first one to give a better view of the piece.

I said I was going to draw this out but until I get some help with my picture program (have an awful time finding them with browse), I'll post whatever the hell I can find without too much swearing.
This is what I did yesterday. Not sure I'm going to get out there this afternoon or not.

Here are a few I worked on yesterday comparing blue stringers on different bases - white and dk.ivory.

And more disks which will, I think, go into a necklace.
