Digital Image editing software...

Hello,

I am new here. I do not want to start a whole new thread on this, so if there is one that exists that you could point me to, I would be happy to look for it. I am wanting to take my photography and digital image manipulation to a higher level. Looking for opinions on a good user friendly program to work on my photos. I am not completely novice, but need something that will be fairly easy to jump into, but with more powerful features than say "Picasa" (which is, I must say, quite an amazing little free program!)

Thank you in advance for your direction.

Hi,soleilbleu,
At the moment Corel have produced Paint Shop Pro X4 & some websites are selling the previous version Paint Shop Pro X3 at a marked down price of less than $20 (try Amazon or Ebay) which is a good deal.
I would suggest you look at the reviews of this software & if you like it find one of the sites that are selling X3.
My preference is Adobe Photoshop Elements but this expensive compared with Paint Shop Pro X3.

Hi, and thanks! Now that you mention it, I believe I used to own a version of Paint Shop Pro when it was produced by Jasc. I will definitely check out that and Photo Elements.

Why not take a look at GIMP. It's FREE and will probably do a lot of what you want. It will cost nothing to try it out!

Photoshop Elements

I would like to suggest Photoshop Elements. It is very powerful and not very difficult to learn. If you shop around you can find it for about $70 (say at COSTCO) and mine came with a small certificate for 100 free 4x6 inch photos.

Ciao.

Harry
