Frigate "La Argentina"

The Spanish frigate "Consecuencia" and "La Candelaria" had party of Cadiz on October 11, 1815. Both were carrying an important cargo destined for the realistic positions on the Pacific coast. But the destination was very different: to reach the coasts of present-day Peru, both ships were captured by the frigates "Hercules" and "Halcón" under the command of William Brown, in the service of the new patriot government established in Buenos Aires.
The "Consecuencia" name was changed to "Argentina", ship which is subsequently made famous on starring in a remarkable journey of two years at the helm of Hipólito Bouchard, which harassed permanently to the spanish power throughout the Pacific ocean, enabling its weakening and the consequent release sudamericana.

Your story lines are always interesting!

Your paintings are equally as good. This painting has all the elements in it: composition, values, color, and subject.

Thanks for posting, this pleases our eye, Greg

Re: Frigate "La Argentina"

Hi Carlos,
Very nice painting. You have done a very nice job of painting the sails on the ship. The painting of the water is a fine job too Carlos.

Hola Carlos,
Pintura muy agradable. Usted ha hecho un trabajo muy agradable de pintar las velas en el barco. La pintura del echar agua es un trabajo fino también Carlos.

Your painting is wonderful. The longer I look, the more I learn! Love how the sun kisses the cloud tops and the right side of the sails. The water is beautifully done, details on the ships are really good and I'm enjoying the hazy atmosphere you've established. Thank you for sharing.

Great painting Carlos, and we all speak the language of art here! Thank you for sharing and trying to give us the history in English, it made enough sense even though it wasn't perfect.

A spectacular painting, Carlos. The detail in the ships is admirable but I love the loose, wet in wet sky and variety of color in the waves.

Nicely done! As I am currently building a model of USS Constitution, I really appreciate the rigging that you have put on this. You must have a pretty good knowledge of how it all goes together to get the result you did.
