Re: Aviation art and artists

Chas - a reference that might help you. There was a series in the '80s and 90's called "Then and Now" that shows scenes from England during the war, and how it looks now. Kicking myself for not picking them up back then. I do recall that there was one on airfields of the 8th airforce. See if you can dig one up, if will be useful for you.

Re: Aviation art and artists

Nice to see so many familiar faces and their work. A big thanks to WC and Shadwell for giving us this space. I'll just post my last two works on the Martin Baker line and Miles M52. Looking forward to seeing lots of new work coming from the members in the future.

Re: Aviation art and artists

That Miles 52 came out well - just saw that one of the aviation mags did a piece on this recently. Nice choice of subject.

Re: Aviation art and artists

Good to see some watercolour .
Sometimes we get too wrapped up in the detail of things and a loose but realistic interpretation such as this looks appealing .

I agree. Ntali, you should consider doing another aviation piece.

Re: Aviation art and artists

A small painting Oil on canvas 12"x10"

It's more of a sketch than a rivet revealing technical jobby , but I think it gives an impression of flight , wind through the hair [those fortunate enough to still have some] etc.

question ... is this channel just for aeroplanes ? ... just wondering

regards loft
