Happy New Year Greenies

Thanks for opening up Dewi - I think we'll be needing to clear all the mess from the Holidays soon!

We're having a very quiet day - DH is watching footie on tv (soccer to the yanks ) because our local team is playing - he's about square-eyed with matches yesterday too - he couldn't stay awake to watch them , so we went to bed before midnight only to be woken up by phone calls!!

There's some left-over cake and Punch on the table for anyone interested

The New Year came blasting in in Texas, too!! Looked the same this morning on the way to Church, but it is a brand new year!! Wonder what paintings we will do this year? Tatiana has already directed us to the Orchid patch, so it will beautiful on the 25th!! Should have the Gallery ready to go by the end of the week. (There is a story, but I will not spoil it yet!! Blush!!)

Dewi, hope that you are up and going again!! Glad you are with us to start us on our way. When I post the Gallery, I put it in December's, right?

We have a new one that wants to paint with us. . .babysmama-Dorothy, from Georgia!! I told her to get prepared for us!

Getting a new computer desk with a cabinet that has two leaves that will stand off to each side. We will put it in an 'L' shape. Everything is on the floor right now awaiting for the arrival tomorrow. I had had my last desk since 1995. It was cheap, but did everything that I needed when I was teaching!! This one will make a statement! My DH is gave it to me for Christmas!! (My kind of gift, I got to pick it out!!) The cats will have to put their prints on it for sure!! They know that something is up because some of the stuff is in 'their' bedroom until the delivery.

Katherine great gift ya got there, and of course the kitties will to leave their
signatures on it..haha it's what they do. Enjoy it.

Maureen, my DH will plan to sit and watch a game and get all settled in, some snacks, something to drink and sure enough after a few hours his head is in his chest..asleep. But if I turn the channel well let's just say he grumbles better then Willie...
Must be bat sense or something.

Hi Meryl, Miss Carol, Jean, Agnes,Shirl, all the peeps.

Yesterday it was incredibly warmer out, now I guess it's suppose to get incredibly cold, will say tho it's been rather a blessing fuel wise for so many, the temps have been so moderate but very unlike 'normal' for around here this time of year, can't say I'm all that unhappy bout it tho.

The new PP thread has beautiful flowers to paint, but I'm not being even tempted, good time I guess to clean up and get rid of some stuff and boy do I have stuff..haha that's what I'll be doing for a while and I think Larry will be happy with that, he says I'm a fire hazzard..LOL

Elaine - I'm reading between the lines here and a little concerned about you - hope you're OK.

Katherine - isn't it amazing how something 'new' can still look the same as the 'old' version'?

Lovely day here - tho' it's dark now and I must go prepare dinner - but it's been glorious blue sky all day ............ prelude to the storms brewing in the Atlantic and heading this way!

Charlie-boy still getting us up between 5am and anytime after, but at least there are no puddles on the floor!!!

Wheeeee, got my desk and table today!! The files have been transferred, so can get rid of that file cabinet. Have given away one of my printers and have taken the old desk to the Mission House for someone that needs one. Everything is still out of the room, so it all looks wonderful. . .then, the office gets put together. . .ugh!! DH had to get on the computer this afternoon. . .he is excited, too!

Some of my HS students from Church at helping us at the MH on Monday afternoons and two showed up today even on their Christmas break. We worked for about an hour and a half. I am so sore, but they just whiz right on. We took 3 truckloads of stuff to our storage buildings. They are heaven-sent, I tell you!!! I usually have about 6. We are getting them T-shirts that say that they volunteer at the MH. Hopefully we will get some more to want after seeing the shirts!! They have to work there for a month before they get a shirt. (They need volunteer hours for some of their classes.)

Elaine, are we to be concerned?

Just loaded an image to the 'Best of...' thread - ashamed to say I haven't posted an individual painting thread there this year - at least the Search didn't find me one! ........... must be slacking so I'll have to rectify that in 2012 - there, that's a NY resolution!

Happy New Year Elaine, et everyone. Still here, peepin' in. Have the Mobile Vet coming today to see my girl Pearl. Took her to the regular vet last week and they nearly kicked her bucket.

Whoa Shirl, what happened to Pearl? Is she OK now? A lady in our community did lose her dog when the vet gave her a shot (I think to clean her teeth). She has since added a new puppy to the family but not using that vet anymore.

It's nice to get organized isn't it Katherine? I cleaned my desk because I had been lazy and letting things pile up. Cleaned up some files on the computer too.... good way to start the New Year!

Just was able to get on after they shut down for repairs or whatever?? and I'm noticing few things missing, and definitely want to repeat tho about the Gallery acceptance... to Miss Carol...Congratulations..good for you, I'm so happy for you...Hurray. Smart move on their part..

Yes, I'm afraid we've lost everything posted since 4th - including threads.

So some may need to re-post in the Best of Florals thread - haven't yet checked, but anything posted since the latest time showing on 4th, will be missing. (At least that's happened in other forums, so we'll be the same

Deep breath - calming thoughts .. ( creeping in ) - anyone asks, you all know where the fault lies!

Aw, thanks Miss Elaine. I was going to use my missing announcement as an excuse to post the good news again. I am thrilled. I found the gallery in Call for Artists, and they are just around the corner from me.

I have had a busy day. I took away all the Christmas decorations, although surveying the rooms just now has shown that there is still stuff around. I guess I was not all that thorough. Then I cleared a bit of the basement. We had moved a lot of stuff from the garage to the basement as I was going to paint the garage floor but never got around to it. I did paint the garage walls though. Anyway got sick of seeing it all in the basement so now it is back out in the garage still in the boxes for when I decade to paint the garage floor this year.

I can see when they do come to restore the missing posts, their will be some scratching of heads with the conversations.
