Re: All Media On-Going Sketching Thread Part 12

That lush green landscape was so vibrant, so full of colors and lively Tirtha. I liked it very much. You have really nailed the rural landscape painting. My best of luck for your continuous success.

To say about me, I'm doing art just as a hobby. I don't know if I'll land anywhere by making arts. So, my work will remain as a hobby at best. But I can see your dedication and commitment. I sincerely wish you all the best. Keep moving on.

Sandra, actually we live in the part of the world where we don't sell and if we sell by chance, we don't have to pay tax at all! We can still say (or boast ) that we are free in the way you aren't!

Tirtha, beautiful poses of your mom and you when young. It has such meaning to it. And your latest piece has superb brightness thanks to the lovely dark trees on the left.

You could look at zazzle and etsy for doing prints and managing sales. You could go to your local shops and ask them to display your art for sale for a commision. This guy at oil pastel section produces a book of his own although I don't know how are sales.

http://www.artist-at-heart.com/humblebutrich/

Yesterday, my colleague who knew I painted asked me if I'd like to practice drawing from a calendar page. I told her I can't because it's copyrighted and then I realized the next day she actually liked that photo a lot of flowers in a sunny alley. I offered to paint it in soft pastel for her for $50 and she buys the frame and mat.

If it comes about, it'll be my first commission. And from there, I could increase the price later for future referals.

Joe, you are right. Cash sounds straight forward enough!! Love your mythical beast. It has everything!

Prem, very alert birds.

Maria, how are you doing? No monthly challenge this month? It's okay, take a rest. Question for you. Do you or your friends sell your trading cards? Where do you do it at?

I can finally relax as of today. A few weeks ago, I've been preoccupied preparing for a civil exam and this week I've been worried about my interview yesterday. It's over with. Now I'll know if I'll get the new job or not in 4 weeks or so. If I do, I'll have a few more white hair because it's a supervisory job and I will have even less relaxing time to paint. If I don't, I'm going devote all my free time to building up my art resume.

Nice work, Sandra.....

My Wonder Woman just sucks.
I knew that when I posted, but, you get the bad with the good in my sketchbook.
Shame is a powerful motivator for me.
Just doesn't feel right to only post the best stuff....
I need to see progress!

Tirtha, nice simple one. I like their postures, so real.

Joe, definitely. We should post the good and not so good altogether. That's the fun part!

This one is for Southwest June Quick Draw.

At first it was as per the photo reference, straight and forward looking but emotion was missing from my practice of cows. So I gave the gentleman a bit more expression.

Normal 2HB pencil
Mitsubishi Hi Uni 6B pencil
General's graphite stick
Academie Heavyweight 80 lb sketchbook 8.5 x 11 inch full page

Title: Knock it off, Daisy. My old lady is next door.

This one is for Southwest June Challenge... and of course, my adaptation of a photo.

Title: "What HORSE POWER?" says the bull.

Pentel Calligraphy pocket brush pen
Academie Heavyweight 80 lb sketcbook 8.5 x 11 inch full page
