Neat Journal Video

Nina Johansson has done a video of her drawing and painting a page in her journal.

http://www.ninajohansson.se/2011/12/...appy-new-year/

She did (almost) a drawing a day for the month of December.

http://www.ninajohansson.se/

Enjoy!

ETA: If you enjoy the video, leave a comment to encourage her to do more videos.

Re: Neat Journal Video

Rainy, at one time her favorite brush for her sketchbooks was a #8, but this is a larger book, and the brush looks like a #10 or #12.

She prefers using a fountain pen. She doesn't start with pencil because it takes too much time. Just goes straight to ink. She does the scene from her kitchen window throughout the year so there are different seasons and lighting of the same view.

Glad y'all are enjoying the video. Here's hoping she does more.

Re: Neat Journal Video

I'm with her. .. I stopped using a pencil over a year ago. Always draw directly in ink now and its very liberating to me.

Re: Neat Journal Video

She also uses the Lamy Safari. She has a bunch of them. EF nib. Other fountain pens too. I have no idea which is her current favorite, but she found a great way to show off her Namiki-Falcon.

Re: Neat Journal Video

I know Rainy. I looked up the price on the pen. Sounds terrific but it is expensive.

Re: Neat Journal Video

Best deal on the Namiki Falcon is here. If it were me, I'd spring for both the added flex and the cursive italic nib modifications. That would be wondrous indeed.

Re: Neat Journal Video

Thanks for the video link - fun to see. Anyone know what ink she uses when she doesn't want the ink to wash as in this video?

Re: Neat Journal Video

She said she would do a post soon about the materials used for the video. She likes Lexington Gray and Platinum Carbon Black, but I don't know if she would put the Carbon Black in her the Namiki Falcon. She has mentioned before that it needs to be cleaned frequently from a pen.

Re: Neat Journal Video

Nina Johansson has posted about the fountain pen inks she uses. She does use Platinum Carbon Black in her Namiki Falcon, but she points out that if not careful, the ink can ruin a fountain pen.
