Hi Howard. Love the colors in this, especially the blues. They bring a sense of peace amidst the tumultuous splash of red and gold.

Re: Start 4

Howard, there are some absolutely wonderful textures in these. The blues against those threads of red make these really sing. Like them both.

Re: Start 4

I'm always in awe of the backgrounds, this one I especially love. The red and orange streaked across the front just really made the rest pop so well too....it's fabulous! I can imagine how in person it makes an even greater impact.

Re: Start 4

i love the mystery of the event.

these works suggest a coalescing at one instance.....yet i know from your posts that these are patient orchestrations of many separate events into ONE

Wow! How long did this take? So many processes and layers and I really love the colours, texture and contrasting control and abandonment.

Re: Start 4

Including building and priming the cradled panel, it took close to four days. Fortunately, there is a bit of down time while waiting for things to dry.

Re: Start 4

Lots to love about this! Great layering gives nice depth. I love the soft pastel top of the painting contrasting with that punch of orange & red across the front. Everything in perfect balance!

Re: Start 4

Very pleasing. Your color combination is superb. I bet it looks a lot better IRL with the interference - interference doesn't really work in a photo.

Re: Start 4

Really good - I like the 'in and out' of the layers creating a sense of mystery - like where is a part heading when it appears to disappear behind another bit - nice!
Really like the bubbly texture too.
