THREE DOLLARS!?
I saw a tiny box of 10 or 12 half-sticks of Grumbachers at the store for $26.00.

I'd say you have a great start here. there are enough variety to give you a feel for the mediums. Understand that one of the sets is oil pastels which preform somewhat differently than dry pastel. Try them both out and post the results.

The price was right, anyway! Have fun experimenting and give us a report.

what a find! Clever you!

Soft pastels, and oil pastels, are quite different, and need to be used separately. Incidentally --------- Grumbacher pastels..........ASW are selling boxes of 30 halfsticks at half price - $29.99, so yes, you got the bargain of the century, and Sundiver, do have a look at the ASW website rather than the store!
