Re: What's On Your Easel, December 2011: Jersey Shore Sunrise & Homewood

Here's the continuation of the "Jersey Shore Sunrise" I started in November with WMO on 15x30 " stretched canvas.

I'm finding the sand and the wave (peaks) especially tricky! Almost ready to call it done.

And here's a painting of a building from my alma mater that I've been working on-and-off on, started in October (seems to be taking me forever for me to complete it!). WMO on 14x18 " stretched canvas

Here's the photo ref

C&C welcome! I know for the 2nd piece I should have used a bigger canvas and smaller (& better quality) brushes :-)

Re: What's On Your Easel, December 2011

Just started this one as a wedding present for my (soon to be) brother and sister-in-law. It's of their German Shepherd dogs; early days yet and haven't painted animals before, but think I have at least captured their shapes so far!

As always, C&C very welcome, thanks.

Re: What's On Your Easel, December 2011

Friesen, what a lovely start for your tulips! I'm glad you're digging into your oils again - I think they're addictive!

Mariah, your beginning is intriguing and makes me want more!

Mark, you should post this one in Portraiture, too - it's a very attractive portrait!

Mlou, waves are tricky; you might take a look at "The Long View 100" thread on this page, it has been an education for me to follow it! It looks like it would take very little for both paintings to reach a finished state.

Graham, as the former owner of German Shepherds, I think you are doing well in your start!

some great works this month and were only on the 5th

calin " that is grisly man "

and on the opposite end of the scale larubias friend / if she was only half as beuatiful on the inside as she was on the outside she must have been a stunning friend and obviously is sorely missed !!

Thanks Nancy. Means a lot because I had to make the shadows up- she asked for a fall view and gave me pictures of leafless trees lol.

Tiny little 6"x6" portrait of two boys. Use tiny little brushes!
