Scavenger hunt #247 - 27 Nov to 5 Dec 2011
 Hey all
GET READY TO HUNT
If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the Current Hosting Schedule HERE ...
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...366347&page=29
Here are the rules for the hunt:
1. ALL items must be sketched from life, not imagination or a photo reference.
2. Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colours that object contains.
3. You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.
4. All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.
5. Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate.
6. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.
7. Please tell us the size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.
8. If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary.

Re: Scavenger hunt #247 - 27 Nov to 5 Dec 2011
Hi,
I did most of these with a local brand ink pen (water soluble kind), and Coran D' Ach wc pencils. The ground was a 6x9 inch Aquabee sketchbook.
#1 natural -- a luffa
#2 from the woods -- a feather of a blue bird found in a garden
#3 spherical -- a marble
#4 cylindical -- a film canister
#5 favorite thing -- Werther's Original
#6 It helps me relax -- my little duck collection
#7 jewellry
#8 mask -- my cool gel eye mask
#9 old -- my Vermont playing cards bought in 1988

Hi everybody! Happy belated Thanksgiving. We are in our house, slept here 2 nights now, so just a note to get the list. I will be posting about it, etc. All smiles here! Lin, thanks for the list.

Re: Scavenger hunt #247 - 27 Nov to 5 Dec 2011
Looks like we are off to a slow start!
Ai - Great group...love the luffa, that duck (who looks like she's pouting) and the deck of cards.
Jo - So glad for you! I hope we get to see photos (or sketches) of it soon.
Lin - Hope the doc can make you more comfortable!
1 - cylindrical - pencil
Challenge - a sort of sculpture with my tape, scissors, a sticky lable, a pen and pencil.
2 - thrown away (onion skin) - watercolors and ink
3 - from the woods - watercolors and ink
-
4 - from the seashore - watercolors

Re: Scavenger hunt #247 - 27 Nov to 5 Dec 2011
Lin hope you get some relief for your arm soon. I am sure we all really appreciate your efforts hosting when you are not feeling good yourself. Thanks.
Ai good start, and so many done already. Love the feather, favourite thing and cards. Very nice elipses on cylinder.
JO so glad to hear you are in your new place. Hope you settle in quickly and get to relax and enjoy it.
Joan awesome onion skin and cone from the woods. Another lovely seaside landscape. I can't see your sculpture though....
I did some sketching last night but only one for the hunt. Got distracted sketching the cat who was sleeping on the bed. I never used to feel confident doing them from life so is a real change to be taking every opportunity now. These hunts have done wonders for my drawing and confidence. Is strange I would much rather draw from life than a pic now.
