I have jusr received an 'invitation' to enrol in the Artist's University. I don't believe it is a university. It is, it seems, simply a business activity and while I respect F+W and its various projects, I despise this misuse of language. A school it may be, but not a university.
I hold several university degrees and I feel this despicable degradation of the meaning of the word is insulting to university graduates. It degrades the standing of real university degrees - and the English language.
This sort of business promotion is false, deceitful and misleading.
F+W, please rethink and recognise the error of your ways.
However, I applaud the intentions of the SCHOOL and wish it well when it is renamed.
