403 Forbidden

~JON recommends I repost this here for technical assistance.

When I try to post a reply to a thread I get an otherwise blank white page containing the error: "403 Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forums/newreply.php on this server." Not a forum error but a server error.

The reply was posted to the thread at:

/forums/showthread.php?t=947591

~JON suggests this may be a closed thread. I cannot find any indication of that though.

Note that the reply would have been my first ever post to the forum after getting signed up.

Let me know what other information would be helpful for me to provide.

Which forum were you trying to post in?

@snoball Unfortunately I still get the error.

@Yorky I posted the thread above. The thread comes from the forum titled WetCanvas > The Art Business Center > General Art Business.

I suppose a closed thread or a restricted forum would be indicated by a message coming from the forum software, but I did not see such an indication. The 403 error is a server (HTTP) error, not a message from the forum software. It likely indicates a misconfiguration such as a permissions problem in the forum installation. And the 404 error is a broken link. I wanted to report these as a courtesy so they can be looked in to by the forum admins.

Edit: Oops, I reported the 404 error in the original post but did not repost it here in the proper forum. So here it is: When I try to get contact information by clicking "Contact Us" on the page "/MediaKit/" I get the error: "404 Not Found The requested URL /MediaKit/sendmessage.php was not found on this server."

MetaEd, someone else had this problem recently and when I reported it to a mod, it turns out his account was still awaiting moderation. That may be why you are still unable to post.

I found that the broken "Contact Us" link, while broken on /MediaKit/, is not broken on other pages, so I have now been successful at contacting the webmaster to report the 403 and 404 errors.
