Scavenger Hunt #258: Feb 23 - Mar 2
Welcome to the hunt.
If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347
Here are the rules for the hunt:
*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.
*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.
*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.
*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.
Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.
Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.
*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***

There is "J" gearing up for a big winner. Love the items, specially the lamp. Looking forward to the sketch.
Hi, Paul. You are at it, too.
Bonnie, nice to see you. I don't have time for the WDE. One of these days.
I managed a couple this morning. I bought a new Micron 05 pen and thought I had it in my hand, but no, I had one about out of ink. Sketched in the brown paper sketchbook. That thing is lasting forever, eh?? It is barely half full.
Number 1, evergreen and Number 2, hearth or heater. The electric fireplace.

Jo: Thanks for the list and lovely tree and the fireplace. Great first start of this Hunt.
Bonnie: I'll try to join the WDE but the kids usually keep me at bay.
J: Fun and fast and vibrant start of your still-life collection. Clever quarter.
Hi all.

Jo - Thanks for the new list! I've been suffering from a stomach bug for the last few days and haven't had the energy to get on the computer. Maybe I'll get a few sketches done today. I never even finished the last hunt. See you soon!

Jean - Gosh that looks like another great still life coming up!Can't wait to see it.
Ai and Ep and Paul - Hi there.
Joan - I hope you're feeling better soon. I never got Jean's list started (sorry Jean) so don't feel too bad about not finishing it.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #258: Feb 23 - Mar 2
Hi there, Ai!
You, too, EP.
Joan, glad you feel better. Very unusual for you not to finish a list!
Hi, Viv. Looking forward to sketches....
"J", so happy to see your ink drawing, too. I love the sketch and how many you got in. Clever "U" and old fashioned and opportune buy on the zebra, eh?? You don't have many to go now.
I used the iPad again today with my fingers and the DrawCast program. Not too many "undo" hits, about 15 minutes. A bit faster, but I forgot to add the shadow under the coffee can on the table after using the photo for the background. The light just came right through the can. Ha. Also the lid was black and I thought the purple I used was very black looking on the iPad, doesn't show that way here. All a learning curve.
Number 1, aromatic - coffee, I love how it smells when you open the can. I wish the taste was the same. It is good, but not that good. Ha.
