WDE Aug 5 - Sketches done, painting not complete
Astrid - thanks for hosting.
I had the sketches done on Saturday and was holding off posting them until the painting was complete but my schedule has changed. So I thought I'd post the work as it stands right now and post the completed painting when it's complete.
Here are my sketches, 8.5x11", directly in ink, around 2 hours.

... and here is the painting in progress. It's the sail away from Galveston Texas. Acrylic, 9x12" on canvas board. The bumps you see is because there are at least two previous dud paintings on here.

 EP..You just amaze everytime you post one of your "sketches", but...did you chicken out on those plates!!  I see no one was brave and made a big picture of them  AND duds are just texture in disquise!!  I will be back to see the done pix. Kurlie  |

EP these are gorgeous as always so many favorites in this bunch the invite, the carved watermelon, sunset, animals, Marlin, pirate ship the list goes on
I love the beginning of the painting and glad to hear I am not the only one who paints over those I don't like I will be back and am still waiting on Bonnie's as well this is grand though

Your sketches are always wonderful and I look forward to seeing what you feature in them every week. I like the WIP, those colours work just as they are and the lumps make it even better.
