Wow this is great, you have really captured the hair quality and I love the pose of the dog! Perhaps you could tone done the white in the head just a tiny bit... Keep doing what you are doing it works!

thanks raye51, the scan hasn't picked it up, but there are lots of shadows on the head, they were probably just too light for the scanner, I'll have a look at a rescan tommorrow!......Lynne

Lynne put a piece of clear acetate down on the scanner bed first then your artwork...you'll find you'll pick up the lighter colors that way...
what size, pencils, paper?

arlene, thanks for the tip with the acetate, I will try that, I know I've got some somewhere here......the paper is a bristol, 10''x 12'',
I used a combination of Derwent Artists', which,I have since worked out, they are not really for me, (pity as my husband bought me a huge box of them!)as I don't like that wax bloom , the others sanford Prismacolor, along with Faber Castell polychromos.....both of which I prefer.
chooky, g'day, been here a while actually, just new to this medium/forum, yes they(dogs) just cling to the lounge. I didn't really make her get off, she ignored me any way!.....
thanks for having a look, and the advice guy's.....Lynne

I love the way you've caught the softness of the fur. What a beautiful animal!

This is a beautifully soft rendering of your gorgeous dog, the colours are lovely and soft and muted shades, it all works excellently .
I am always saying that I really should keep my two off the furniture, hee! hee! but they always get their own way don't they!! LOL
I am very much looking forward to seeing your next piece, you have a wonderful style with cp's.
Warmest Regards,
JAZZ
