Work in progress #2

This is the other work in progress, also about 50% done, and obviously a lion cub.

Any and all comment and help welcomed.

This cat too cute to bite.

How do you like working on word as opposed to paper?

Hi Lis,

Thanks for your comments. I like working on wood a lot, it is a challenge to incorporate the grain into the finished work.

Oh! This is just beautiful! Love the expression on the baby's face.

It reminds me of a time several years ago, when my daughter was in kindergarten. Her class had a school trip to a local zoo and I went along as a supervising parent. The zoo had just opened and wasn't very well established yet...they had no bathroom facilities yet, so if you had to go, you were invited inside the owner's house. Well, sure enough my daughter had to go...so we trotted up to the house. While she was in the bathroom, what should I spy in the livingroom, but a large dog crate with a baby tiger in it!!!!

Well...needless to say, my daughter's class lost one supervising parent for the duration of the afternoon! I shuffled her off to the teacher while I stayed behind at the house and the owner let the cub out for me to get acquainted with. It was 12 weeks old, so was about the size of a St. Bernard pup at a similar age...weighed about 15 lbs?? It had *very* sharp little milk teeth (which it used with no compunctions) but it didn't use its claws much. I cuddled and rolled around on the floor and played with it for about an hour and a half before it finally plopped down and fell asleep! What an awesome, mind-blowing experience! Something I will never forget!

Thank you all for your great comments. Arlene, as always, it's good to hear from you, and Lissa that sure is a great story, should be posting finished works soon I hope. The snow leopard goes into a show on saturday, so hoping that goes well.

Take care all of you.
