Art Journals Challenge - Feb 2011
Happy Feb 1st!
Our forum challenge for this month was proposed by our guide, DrDebby.

(Yes, I've met both.) Could be rose petals, rose bushes, or bouquets. How about drawing a cacao tree or pod? (really interesting pods both in texture and color.) Could be something chocolate colored or rose colored. Lots of possibilities. And it wouldn't necessarily have to be a whole sketchbook or even a sketch a day unless you wanted to. Could be just a single page on the subject/theme. What do y'all think?

Have at it!!

Re: Art Journals Challenge - Feb 2011
I'm going to paint dogs from photos using digi paint during this month.
I have a few more pages for my January project. Fingers crossed I'll get them done by the end of this week.

It was 11 below zero today slightly freezing my imagination. This will thaw me out. Sounds fun!

Sounds like one that will challenge me, but I'll give it a go. Thanks for posting the challenge EP.

Re: Art Journals Challenge - Feb 2011
After my shocking effort for January, I think I'll stick with the wc book and try and finish it during February (if it drags on past that I may burn it! ). Not sure of the theme, but if I am near roses I'll try to stick them in.
Looking forward to see what everyone does for February.
Cheers

Debby - I forgot too until I saw a thread asking "where's the Feb challenge?"
Candace - brrrr. Grab some hot chocolate and stay warm!
Jean - hooray! It's Debby's great idea
Chris - NO book burning!! If it's misbehaving you could put it in a time out...

Re: Art Journals Challenge - Feb 2011
Well the cold has finally reached us, horrific winds last night, scared me silly. I just went out on the deck and realized it was so cold my water features were freezing as they pumped. So we may have snow yet, a huge rarity. It's not 11 below mind you, I just hope my pipes don't burst like they did last time it was this cold. Our houses aren't really built for that down here.
I'm really going to make a huge effort to post my sketchbook this month, my camera left the building last month and by the time it got back there were just too many pages to deal with and the month was almost past. No chocolate labs around here, think if I had some of Debby's delicious chocolates then I might actually have something to paint, although, I did just bake a red velvet cake which is kind of chocolate, but just kind of. Maybe roses I haven't painted any since Valentines last year.

Hmm... I suppose I could post some pictures of my chocolates. (That I'm not making this Valentine's day because of a shoulder injury. )
Feel free to use these for sketching this month.

Re: Art Journals Challenge - Feb 2011
Finally! Calorie free chocolates brought to you by Dr Debby! This is good, I would never manage to paint a box of chocolates, as I would sample till they were all gone and then I'd have to paint a box empty except for the little paper cups. Thanks for sharing Debby. Not doing Valentines day chocolates is probably a good idea, all of that stirring is definitely not going to make your shoulder heal faster.
