Smile February Plant Parade

Hear yeh Hear yeh flower peeps..

Lilies, lilies, white lilies and yellow—

Lilies, lilies, purple lilies and golden—

Calla lilies, tiger lilies, lilies of the valley—

Lilies, lilies, lilies—

Bulb, bud and blossom—

What made them lilies?

If they were not lilies they would have to be something else,

would they not?

What was it that made them lilies instead of making them

violets or roses or geraniums or petunias?

What was it that made you yourself and me myself? What?

Alas! I do not know!

Painters of Flowers and Plants !!

This is Agnesdale Black........

Your host for the February Plant Parade!!

For this month I have chosen a great flower that is the Lilies. This is a tribute to my mum who is born February 12 and was named LILY.
Wikipedia = Lilium is a genus of herbaceous flowering plants growing from bulbs. Most species are native to the temperate northern hemisphere. They comprise a genus of about 110 species in the lily family (Liliaceae).

Rules of the game are the same, that is paint, draw, scratch or whatever, in any medium, on any support!

Reveal date is on the 25th of this month! Please don't post before that or it will be removed! We can discuss in this thread what is going on, our progress/strategies with the painting but don't post any photos!

If I miss anything, don't hesitate to remind me..

And some are mine.So are we ready?

Here we goes.............

Wow Agnes, I was thinking wouldn't see until tomorrow...
what beauties, and I do love them. I'm sure hoping I can get into this, bit
drained at the moment but I sure will try to give it a go. Thanks sweetie these are fantastic.

Re: February Plant Parade

Was telling Sally on the 29th..."right,how about mushroom next month?",then she says.."ohkey mushrooms then!!"
On the 30th,she sms me on facebook(yes we still send messages on facebook and skype even if we are just a couple of steps away, lol)
she posted on my wall "when are you posting?"
I said tommorow,but on the afternoon I said,oh well,lets just do Lilies..she looks at me funnily,without saying a word!!!LOL!
Iam just glad you guys like it,any probs dont hesitate to buzz me!!!
See Jean,my intention is to keep us on the ground but doing mushrooms and letchins is too grounded,
I cant bend that much anymore,LOL!but maybe next time...
I did get loads of the white lilies that hubby give on my bday Mau,but my camera gone mad and delete it all
Was out today to get a new support.
Need some stiring up this artsy brain of mine if I have one,was also comparing prizes with art materials, and see what they have.
So I did enjoy my morning browsing tru art shop.
Until tommorow FG's!!!

Re: February Plant Parade

Great photos, Agnes! I like the lilies. Much more fun than mushrooms. Lilies are great because they have few petals and they're big ones with interesting shapes. I like being able to paint them without taking forever on a zillion tiny petals.

Re: February Plant Parade

Thanks agnes - I love your choice of lilies for the parade. I have photos I took several years ago of a lily plant/flowers that is/are no longer with us and have been meaning to paint. So, I guess, now is the time!!
