I think there are two Barbara Wallace's. The one I was wondering about is illustrated on the internet here: http://printsnposters4u.com/Artists_...Gallery_07.htm
I see the same 5 painting (plus one with a cow, a cat and a fish tank, and one with an angry steer) everywhere including a company that has a screen saver with them, but I haven't been able to find any extensive body of her work. She doesn't appear to have a personal website. Posters with those 5 images seem to come of Australia, so perhaps she's there. Anyway, I would love to see more of her work. Her business plan seems to be to sell prints of her work and not original art, so that might explain why I can't find much on the internet. But even so, there seems to be a very small body of work.
I have been wondering for years how she got the grainy quality to her shading, and I just recently realized that she probably uses a mouth atomizer. I tried it and did get a reasonable proximity of what she does, but she is much more adept than I am at getting the atomized watercolor into small passages. I was able to rent a tape from SmartFlix on using an atomizer and got the basic idea from it, but there's clearly a lot more to learn.
So-o-o is there any thread on mouth atomizers?
