Question Rubber feet for French easel

I just got a new full-sized French easel. I remember seeing on a thread about modifications that people have added four little rubber feet to the face so when you carry it around it rests on those feet instead of the drawer face. What are those called? The guy at Lowes directed me to slides for furniture legs but that wasn't right.

Hank,

Are you talking about this kind of thing:

...?

If so, you can usually find them near where the nuts and bolts are at a hardware store. Taking a picture might help the folk there help you. Or you can order online... I googled "rubber feet" and got quite a few useful matches...

This sort of thing is sold where electronic parts are stocked... as feet for the instrument cabinets.
Have fun, Dave

Hank,
I got a set of four at the local hardware store, I think they were just called rubber feet or something like that, they attach with phillips screws so I predrilled the holes to avoid any splitting of the wood:

Hey Hank, contgrats on a new French Easel! There are also the self adhesive kind, they would probably be fine if superglued.

Re: Rubber feet for French easel

Yes. Thanks everyone. That's what I was looking for. I didn't know if they had a special name. When I said "rubber feet" the guy showed me things for sliding furniture across floors. I couldn't find them on my own. I'll try Home Depot today. It's times like this I wish there was still an old fashioned hardware store around where the people who work there actually know what they sell.

Sid, the pair you have on the lid don't hit the box when you open it? I think on mine I'll have to put them all on the box part (not the lid). When I open it the lid is too close.

Thanks Dan. It's surprisingly bigger than my half box. Not sure what I'm gonna do with all that space inside it. I think I can fit both my acrylics and oils into ONE box! I can't wait to baptize it in paint tomorrow -- get it dirty.

If you have an OSH or an ACE nearby, you might try them. I don't know about where you are. But here I find the selection in the hardware section of the Big Box stores to be pretty pathetic.

Re: Rubber feet for French easel

Try Mouser.com and you will see they sell these as electronic hardware. Enter "feet" into search window... they have six pages of them... glue on and screw on... they list the dimensions, colors, etc.
Have fun, Dave
