Originally posted in the May Plant Parade hosted by Sharrm here.

I chose the poppy because I painted on a larger scale (20x20") and spent a longer time doing it - but was happy with the result!
The ref. in the RIL is by Stephie20.

I choose this one that I also did for the May plant parade and cross posted in the colored pencil forum. 30x30cm coloured pencil on sanded paper.

I was very pleased with the way this one turned out.

Re: 2010 ~ The Best Of Your Floral Art Show

This is one of a few florals I did in 2010. It's of a shrub that abounds in the boreal forests of Labrador. We always called it Labrador Tea. It's got lots of uses; a medicine, a tea, a balm, and of course...a poison! Also, you really don't get the feel for this plant until you're being eaten alive by mosquitios! LOL.

This is acrylics on canvas board, 11 x 14.

Re: 2010 ~ The Best Of Your Floral Art Show

Painting this large canvas 1m x 1m in acrylic of a rose was always going to be a challenge - stepping back and seeing the depth and color I achieved gave me a huge sense of accomplishment.

Re: 2010 ~ The Best Of Your Floral Art Show

I've chosen this painting not because of the best in the year of 2010 but beacuse of first time in using cutter on wooden support;
which I'm going to do it again if possible and using the proper tools.

I chose this one as it tested my composition skills and the subject (Cherry Blossom) reminded me of home. The Forth Rail Bridge and Cherry blossom...Scotland at it's best! Thank-you Agnes.

Re: 2010 ~ The Best Of Your Floral Art Show

I don't know if it's the best or not but it was the largest I undertook for a Plant Parade challenge and one of my most favorite flowers and memories.

Re: 2010 ~ The Best Of Your Floral Art Show

This is the cornflower (8x10 oil) that I entered in the August Plant Parade. It is the first of my oil paintings that I really felt pleased with.

It was difficult to choose...I like each one as I'm working on it...but I think this one has staying power. Originally posted in the June Plant Parade, this is 8x8", oil on gessobord.

Red

A rose from my garden in France.
W&N watercolours on Arches 300 g CP, full sheet (22" x 30")
It was a challenge to myself: All this red!!
Turned out nice, I'm still happy with it, and it reminds me of summers in France
