"Blowing Rock Cafe"

After strolling down a narrow, shady garden path between buildings one can find a favorite eatery in this charming mountain town. Have spent many good times here with dear friends. When dining outside, one can smell the scent of nearby hemlock trees and the earthiness of the surrounding garden.
Your honest comments and critiques are always welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you,
Steven

Steven, it's very rich, and I like the people sitting outdoors with everything green and gorgeous. The building is softly painted for atmospheric depth and emphasizes all the beauty in the foreground.

I love how you've presented the people in this piece - really nice! Love the garden too.

Another lovely painting!I like it how you make things lose detail and sharpness as they recede back. One would definitely want to spend some time in that café!

Re: "Blowing Rock Cafe"

Richard Thank you so much!

Nancy Thank you for your comments. The depth is one of the things that I am most pleased about this painting.

Di Wilde Thanks! I really struggle with painting "simple" figures in my paintings but include them because sometimes it is so important to have them there to convey the "complete" story.

Mustapha Thank you so much for your kind comments.

Randa Thank you. I can still remember the "scent" of being there!

Steven
