Shell project
Is it done? Or should I add more darks?
Thanks for any advice or opinions

Ruth,
I personally think it's perfect, but then again I tend to always lean towards the lighter side...
Great job!

Beautiful!! I would leave it as it is. Lovely work...you have captured each shell. I think you have enough darks to contrast. I did a gray scale pic for you. This will show the contrasts better.

This is lovely. If you are inclined to you could add a little more dark to the top middle one.

It's lovely Ruth! Beautiful colors and a nice pattern.
I don't think it needs more darks--there is lots of contrast and it is still delicate, like shells should be. The only place I would possibly fiddle with is the bottom edge of the large shell on the bottom right. I like the texture there, but somehow I have a feeling that that whiteness there creates a bit of imbalance in the composition and pulls my eye out of the painting. It's a really minor quibble--I really like the painting!

Olga, thank you for mentioning that. It's actually a white lumpy shell which, for some reason, the scanner doesn't like! It looks better in person - a pale lilac with darker lilac shadows. I feel it points towards the focal shells in "life"
Glad the rest meets with approval!!!! lol

Thank you Alan, I might go back to that and one or 2 other areas yet
Bob, thanks, that's a lovely thought! Please do join in the project, lots of reference images there if you don't have shells of your own.

Done! Absolutely gorgeous Ruth, the shells look fab. Like the lightness you have kept in the picture (unlike me ).

Looks good Ruth, I agree the top shell could use more color, I absolutely love how you did the bottom middle shell.
