I've never posted any of my fledgling art works before.....I've just enjoyed and learned from others here and on other sites. So I've decided to take the plunge. I work mostly with watercolor, pen and ink, colored pencil (Inktense & Graphitint). I've recently retired at 64 and have thought about creating some journals that my children and grandchildren might be interested in as keepsakes...plus it looks like something I might enjoy. Never made a journal before....checked out several "how-to" web pages and decided to give it a try. I scrounged up some old books and decided to remove the pages and recover the binding. I bought some material and gave it a try. My pages measure 8 1/4X10 1/4. They are put into the book so that I can do half page sketches or a full page. I included 10 full 140# w/c pages, 8 pages of paper for Copic Marker & 8 pages for pencil sketches...or ink only. Also, the pages can be removed in case I screw up something....really bad! (;-)) I've thrown all modesty to the wind with the first page....me sitting on a bench and sketching...I never could get the face closer to real but.... Anyway, any comments are welcome.
