an Exquisite Corpse wip
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Exquisite corpse (also known as exquisite cadaver or rotating corpse) is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled.
(more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisite_corpse).
Normally, the second artist does not peek at the first artists section ... only the bottom 1/2 or so inch of the first artists work should be exposed. my collaborators peeked so i'd like to do this again sometime with artists who can follow the rules ...
I'll show in sections first, then the complete drawing ... total dimensions are 38 x 50 inches, sectioned off into four aprox equal portions. charcoal and pencil on an unknown weight of watercolor paper.
section 1: (done by 1st artist)
section 2: (done by 2nd artist)
section 3: (done by 1st artist)
section 4: (done by late arrival/early departure artist 3, continued by artist 1)
'complete' drawing:
3rd artist has left the area, 2nd artist has lost interest, 1st artist (me) will be adding ink next, maybe watercolor if i feel brave. might take a while, but i'll post the inked version as i complete it ...

Re: an Exquisite Corpse wip
Could this be done over the internet? Perhaps having a rim of so many pixels from the last drawing sent to a new artist who will add so many pixels and send their rim to the next until all is accounted for? Then the picture will be impossible to see until all post at the end. Or perhaps all should send their pic to a single uninvolved party who will composite and post the completed pic.

Re: an Exquisite Corpse wip
A lot of the surrealist games were also simultaneous so all parties were involved at all times. This could be achieved in meatspace by having as many exquisite corpses going as there are bodies playing - all transferring their piece at the same time.
