Diana Mae's November Sketchbook

Yesterday, I did a drawing in my sketchbook and did the "I don't like it" Judgement.

Then I looked at it today and thought, "Well, maybe they will like it anyway as it has life to it."

I'll be back in a few minutes with it.

Diana

Re: Diana Mae's November Sketchbook

I'm looking forward to seeing my work here but alas! It's not going to happen in these scanner conditions! I do not know what to do. It's going to be another few weeks before you see art from me again. I feel really aggravated!

Does anyone know if an XP scanner can be rigged up to a windows 7 computer?

A new scanner. What a waste of money!

Re: Diana Mae's November Sketchbook

I think the peripheral equipment companies do that on purpose. Had that problem with a scanner. Went from Windows 2000 to XP and suddenly needed a new scanner and a new printer. Wish you the best on that. Looking forward to seeing your work.

Have you tried photographing it instead? I didn't replace my scanner, just the printer and have been working using a digital camera instead. Not as good maybe, but it works.

Oh by the way, it's an antique toddler's shoe as a semi contour drawing.

Re: Diana Mae's November Sketchbook

OK so I printed out the page and it looks the same as on the screen so that means at least my computer is fine right?

So what I have to get is a scanner right?

Re: Diana Mae's November Sketchbook

The shoe is marvelous.

Did you draw this in graphite? Sometimes scanners don't pick up graphite lines well and you need to adjust the contrast. The second time it's posted looks fine.

Re: Diana Mae's November Sketchbook

I adjusting the contrast is what is needed? I'll try again. I guess doing silverpoint is a total no no then. I am going to try to find the CD for my other scanner. The red was fading on it but graphite did fine.

No, you can scan silver point, other people do. It's just that it needs adjustment. But, I'm not sure how to do it.
