Re: What are you listening to?
I love too many of the classics to list and have recently taken a liking to some of modern composer Howard Shore's work - Lord of the Rings fame.

Yup, I also like that; some of it is in fact quite haunting.

I discovered the work of Joseph Bodin de Boismortier ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boismortier) some years ago. Relatively lightweight stuff, but immensely pleasant on the ear and a joy to listen to. Here are some examples:

(The last video including something for the art lover as well!)

Re: What are you listening to?
Sort of a female Boyz 2 Men - Girlz 2 Women? Nice voices, they should do well in Christmas season.
I always did like female voices better than mens' - as long as they don't let their vibrato run away with them. How about this little gem, from the inventor of the Baroque:

Re: What are you listening to?
My mood dictates the composer but I usually listen to:
James Horner
James Newton Howard
John Williams
Jerry Goldsmith
Howard Shore
Hans Zimmer
Sure I missed a few but they're on the top of the soundtrack list.

Now, now, I thought it was common knowledge that women cannot sing. If you want high voices, you get a well trained boys choir.

Yes, those are wonderful too. Funny, my wife and I were discussing exactly that while listening to the very Monteverdi piece I posted.
This morning it's a little Steely Dan:
