Thanks Dillon! I really like working on black paper...it makes the colors pop. I used some of my iridescent pastels on the back wall behind the lemons...wish it would come out better in the picture, it's very shimmery.

I really like this. I'm not a big fan of black paper most of the time, but I have to admit, on this one it really does look good.

I really liked the still lives on your website, and here's another one in the same characteristic style: simple composition, great colors. Just super!
So you were picking lemons today... where's your snow, I wonder?

Thanks gredelin

Snow???....you mean that crushed ice that comes out of my ice maker? Actually it's a pretty gorgeous day here....sunny, in the high 60's. I have to admit tho, it's kind of hard to get into the Christmas spirit with this weather.

Even if we can't see the iridescents, this really sparkles!
Which iridescent pastels do you have? I have Van Goghs...a little hard, and not as opaque as I'd like. But I do like using them.

Thanks sundiver...I have the Senneliers (bought a set of 24 off of eBay), they are very soft and very creamy. I really enjoy them.

Like it a lot, Karen, and of course you know that I'm a big fan of the black paper. As you say, it makes colours pop. And am I envious of anyone who can grow and pick lemons!!

I really like this Karen...and the other lemony one. Great colors and composition.
I like working with black paper too, although I don't use it often. It is interesting how the different color papers make such a difference. I mean it makes sense that it does but it still amazes me sometimes how much difference.
