Jiang Balcony
Finally finished!! The reference photo is taken by my friend during his trip to China... This is the dwelling hut of the Jiang native. They laid out those vegetables (corns, pumpkins etc) in the sun to preserve them for the coming winter months ahead.
Done on Treschelling #300 rough (13.5" x 19")
Comments and critique welcome... sorry about the scan lines

Marvin I thought at first that you'd posted the photo by mistake!!!! WOW! Great job on that building. Your paintings never disappoint me!

Me too!
The texture of the building is perfectly realistic. I think I would like a bit more color (yellow and orange) in the vegetables....
A good job!!!

really marvellous, MArvin
You would make me a very happy old woman....if you washed over some of that rock with a teeny bit of blue......and some other with a teensy weensy bit of purple.....
and the mountains in the background...are screaming for purple...look at the picture...

I agree, you've added so much more than the camera showed.
Really like this composition. Love the stones, the tall structure against the blue sky, and the colorful veggies.
I look forward to seeing your revisions when you are rested.

Absolutely marvellous, Marvin!
I particularly admire the way you showed light within the doorway which adds depth and interest to the painting. Your textures are superb. I'm knocked out with the whole thing!
