okay...now this is weird.

about two weeks ago with my meditation group (okay, no jokes please...i live in LA) we did a meditation to start off that the leader led us down dark stairs and we were to go to the bottom and then look into the darkness and see a word.

the stairs that i meditated on and saw in my minds eye, were exactly like the ones here...i am not kidding, the color was exactly the same and the feeling that i had is definitely captured in this painting. of course the texture wasn't the same, but the overall effect was just as rich...WOW!

i really love this painting aurora, it is almost like you brought to life those brief 10 minutes that i went down the stairs...

really nice painting besides its symbology...

i LOVE this direction that you are going and wax certainly seems to suit your needs for it...

wonderful...keep going!

pax.lori

oh and to answer your question...yes!

Hehehe..... thanks yous guys. Lori, sure you're not destined to come live here in Cuthbert, GA with me? I understand we have a couple of fine south georgia republican boys in office now..... Heheheheheh

Seriously, though. That's very cool. This stairway does exist, btw... minus the green goopy stuff. I could prolly post my reference photo if you wanna. It's a seriously spooky staircase, and when I saw how the photo turned out, my breath caught in my throat.

thanks guys! It took, I'm thinking, six sittings. That's the problem I'm having with these. I've gotten so used to working alla prima, and these require a patience I've not cultivated yet. Mmmmm...... Right now, I'm feeling a distinct urge to throw some paint around with a palette knife. May have to do some of that tomorrow.

Hey All! I've got the reference photo for you. I've been outside all morning hanging up a gate I built all by myself, onto a fence I put up all by myself. I'm pretty proud of myself, to tell you the truth! And now my puppies won't be able to get into my perennials and dig them all up.
OK, so here it is. Thanks for all the responses!
