This is a dragonfly on a heather, done on Pro Art Sketch 9x12 with coloured pencils and pen and ink.

Color definitely suits you! And you're now venturing into pen & ink...how do you like it so far? If you get waterproof ink you can also do watercolor washes which are a lot of fun too!
