Thumbs up Plant Parade Project September 2010

SEPTEMBER 2010: Plant Parade project.

Welcome to September's edition of the Floral/Botanical project.

There are few 'rules' - the main one being we do not reveal any work until 25th of the month.
Any medium
Any size.

We are going to paint multi colour flowers this month everyone
Some of these flowers are from my garden.

Crop, enlarge, miniaturize, simplify, and exaggerate ... whatever you wish, but make your main focus

PLUMERIA OR FRANGIPANI

You could find them with higher resolutions in RIL and PICASA.

Hope you and new comers could join us in this month’s project and have time for fun.
So start early but post it/them on the 25th
I hope you like this month’s subject and worth the waiting

ENJOY

Re: Plant Parade Project September 2010

Hi again everyone
So glad that it's worth the wait and I'm having a wide grin.

Ikan, thinking the same about place mats
When I was painting my usual coaster then I was thinking of what supports should I use for mats too.

Re: Plant Parade Project September 2010

Dewi I'm curious... what base do you use for your coasters? I have said it before, I am a practical nature and I love to have a purpose for everything I do...besides the love of doing it.

A lot of what I paint I give to friends, their pet portraits or their recently purchased farm. I did sell one to a stranger who just loved the fact it reminded her of something close to her heart and it was hanging in my daughter's cafe.

I do like finding good ideas though so if anyone has a suggestion and doesn't mind sharing I would be very pleased to hear it. I might not get 6 done this month but I will get 6 done

Re: Plant Parade Project September 2010

Dewi, these are gorgeous! I had no idea plumeria came in so many different colors. This is so tempting. I hope this month that I'm functional on the 25th and can participate. Is it okay to use these in other projects if I can't stand to wait?

Oh my fafa, Oh this is a flower of my childhood,we make this into garlands, and it hangs in our necks on graduation day and I remember dancing the hawaian "PEARLY SHELLS",( pearly shells, from the ocean, shinning in the sun, covering the shore, when I see them,my heart tells me that I love you, more than all,my lil pearly shells. .)(You got me singing DEWI )with a grass skirt and a necklace and bracelets and anklets made out of string of P's,we call this in my native language "KALATSUTSI"!!

FLOWER GIRLS,let the fun begin..go go go go!!!!

Hi!!! I think I will buy the woody ones, from the local grocers? But would be nice to try raw canvas, cut it into squares for placemats,or mantels, and then lamenate it afterwards?

Gorgeous refs Dewi!. Can't grow these flowers here, as it's too cold but seen them in more tropical countries and love them. I'm definitely in for this Challenge.
