Afghan Hound

Hi all: Well it has been a long time since I have posted anything but here it goes, not done along way to go as of yet. Reference used with permission from Kathryn Hollinrake. Not the best photo but I was in a hurry to get the pic taken before we had company over.

Oh yes now that I see it on here major work to do. All CC's welcome of course.

Wendy

Re: Afghan Hound

It's a common thing. The artist can usually see all the stuff still to do but since I'm not the artist, I just think it's brilliant!!

Re: Afghan Hound

Thanks everyone for the great comments, This pic on here has that terrible spot under the dog's right eye, not on the board IRL, but I have a lot of shading to do and more highlites. Will post an update soon.

Re: Afghan Hound

I agree this is quite good to begin with, but I also know what you mean about seeing it and thinking it needs more. That's the way we learn and develop! What I see is, perhaps, a need for a little more change of values. Lighter/darker sort of thing?? But I'm just thinking out loud..

Re: Afghan Hound

Well done - cool feeling to this pose. I think it's the long elegant face framed by all that hair! Neat!

Re: Afghan Hound

Hi Wendy, what a lovely job you've done!!! I'm posting a photo of my afghan "Arwen". The top of the nose area is not so heart shaped, but maybe my photo will help see details.
