Missing Images in Watermedia Threads - REPORT HERE
Some of the forums have lots of images missing from threads. It seems to be hit and miss. A quick scan here just a minute ago shows that most threads are ok in Watermedia. But check threads you have started or go to regularly. If you see places where images are missing, let Linda and me know. Post here in this thread - give us the URL (not a link) - and we will get it reported to the techies.
For Example, Linda's Marching Band thread:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=645621
Apparently this is a problem without a blanket solution...so we have to find and fix each thread manually.
Group hug for the technical crew here at Wet Canvas.
Thanks!
Jen

Jen - every thread I see with the paperclip has missing images except those that were started after the migration...
Big job ahead of the techies...

Re: Missing Images in Watermedia Threads - REPORT HERE
yes, Mary Lou, I thought it was initially the attached images but it is the uploaded ones as well -- many of which do not even have a way of indicating that the image is missing. It is only in the context of the text!!!!
This is a HUGE issue and one which is being taken very seriously by those working on it. If we member can act as ground troops to check through the archive of forum pages, then perhaps we can, with time and patience, get all restored. What is a visual arts website without the visuals?? Boggles the mind. Realtime interaction and feedback is a huge part of Wet Canvas, but so is the ability to search and see what has come before....
Jen
whoops, forgot to say that I will copy & paste the URLs above into a thread dedicated to the purpose over in the Mod Forum.

Re: Missing Images in Watermedia Threads - REPORT HERE
Mary Lou, this is incredible!
OK, I've narrowed it down, I am certain. Images disappear 2/15/10, whether it is a new thread begun that day OR a post in an older thread. I've gotten at note off to admin. Perhaps they know this already. And as I've dug through threads I've seen references to server work/down time and uploader problems in this same time frame -- end of Feb/first days of March.
Need to go peel fire roasted jalapenos for dinner.
