I'm glad you left the bottle in .... this is very nice indeed...

Modge Podge???? I know what it is and have some here but I knowing how thick it is I would never have thought..... I guess I figured when you dragged it across the pastel it would change the shapes and make the colors bleed into one another..... if you could please share how you apply this I would appreciate it.. I am new to pastels and trying to learn how others do it.

sorry - I can see it's not a carrot - but when you answer, you don't always get the picture on the same page!!! My memory was of a long, carrot-shaped object, so I thought it was a carrot.

maybe it's finished now.....

Thought the veg needed brightening.
Chook, the Mod Podge is too thick for my liking (but I was too impaient to wait till I got some thinner stuff) but it doesn't disturb the oil pastel. I just slap it on.
Lol, Jackie, I was wondering what kind of carrots you have over there!

Re: oil pastel wip need composition advice

Now for my eyesight. I think this is a pepper. Hot pepper! Not a carrot.

Interesting thread.

I am just agog that you started this on white and got all those deep, deep colors with OPs! The composition is great and I like the oil bottle. I would never have thought of using acrylic medium either! Great WIP step by step project!

Frame it!

Sundiver, this is really neat painting! What do you think of echoing the reds, in glass somewhere, (the vertical one) the shorter one has tempting subtle reds, but perhaps the vertical one would be tied in more fully in the composition, if it had a touch of the red? an idea,.. But very well done!

Life is too short to be without humor, and chocolate, and a good friend to share it all with! Art is a vehicle, where do you want to go!?
Critiques /Comments always welcome. Sandra..
