Hails from France
feuilles ( leaves )

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: feuilles ( leaves )
Year Created: 2002
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 50cm by 70cm
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
This is an acrylic I'm preparing for an exhibition next week. It is mainly a colour study. My aim was to have harmonious colours in the painting, and a living composition. Hum...

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
My main problem is that I don't like the colour of the big red leaf at the top of the painting. I'd like advice on how to change it so that it balances the lower leaf light color. I'd like it to be more visible.

Feuilles

Hi there,
This is really a great piece! ;-) I would try taking some of the deeper mustard tones and adding to your back leaves so they don't get lost...I played with it a bit on psp, a bit crude way to do it but it really did liven it up and with the front leaf with the white, maybe try some plums with a splash of the deeper plum, and several of the mustard tones. The top leaf having too many white and bright tones. Would like to see what you do with it!!
;-) I see you are concerned with the red leaf and wanted comment on that but personally I think that leaf looks great and I wouldn't change it.
Peace

Thanks for the answer, Demirose.
So you'd rather tone down the pink and white leaf than change the big red one.
That's really interesting. I'll think it over and try your changes digitally...I don't dare changing the real painting anymore for the time being. Kind of temporary paralysis...I'll keep you posted.
Cheers, arsinoé

Arsinoe,
Yes, would love to see what you do with this
!
I love leaves!! I have to say they are one of my favorite things to look at when I want to relax. Now they are all flying around in the air, soon enough will be white out there.
