I use Photoshop only. I used PSP in the beginning but it didn't have the capabilities that pshop has, for me. If you don't need the extra plugins and such PSP is a great digital software to use and a lot less expensive and less system intrusive for sure!

I voted "depends on the project Im doing." For my stuff, I use Painter, Photoshop or sometimes, both.

 Adobe Photoshop LE is all I can afford right now. I would REALLY REALLY LOVE TO HAVE PHOTOSHOP 7.0

I have several pieces of Graphic software in my collection. Each has it's place...as I voted...depending on the project I'm working on at the time.
When creating designs for embroidery I will always choose the PSP v7. IT has enough vector features to keep me happy by creating nice even outlines...and it does have layers which allows me to trace certain elements.
When working with Photographs, I prefer PhotoShop V7. I just purchased it this past summer and am having a blast getting familiarized with it's features.
Corel Painter was included with my Wacom tablet...and I found myself actually "painting" with it. It looks to be an excellant "scratch pad" for when I don't KNOW what I want to do.
Paintshop Pro (PSP) would definitely be my recommendation for people just beginning to work with graphics based solely on the price and the fact that it *does* have enough features to let you know whether or not you're interested in spending the big bucks on PhotoShop.

I voted for Painter though my recent experience with Photoshop has only been with the LE versions...not exactly a fair comparison.
Some of Painter's features, going back to its earlier versions in particular, just seemed like magic when I first saw them. I'm not sure if I'd still recommend it, however, since recent updates haven't been nearly as interesting...and then there's the "support, what support?" problem as it has changed owner a few times.
However it's a great toolbox. After having used it for quite a few years, there are stilll a great many useful-sounding features in there that I still need to learn.

Most of my digital graphics are just for webpages.... banners, buttons etc so I use Macromedia Fireworks and also Photoshop 6.

I like ulead's PhotoImpact (version 8 now) the most even though I have Painter 6. It's just so well rounded . I guess I just don't use natural media paint much.
I like Expression 3 too www.creaturehouse.com ... it has some really unique vector tools
Also like XaraX for vector work |

Actually I do so many different things on the computer that I have quite a few various programs which include but are not limited to; Photoshop, Coreldraw, Bryce 3D, Poser 4, Animation Master, and some simple CAD programs. I use these programs by themselves or in conjuction with one another.

I use Photoshop. I'm pleased with the results I get with it and have no reason to try anything else yet. I have been interested in Painter for it's ability to simulate traditional media, but since I already use oils, pastels and graphite, I'll probably save the money.

I mostly consider myself a Photoshop Queen. I do have Fireworks (use it for slicing web graphics, mostly) and Painter 7. I like Painter (its "watercolor" feature is fabulous) but I need to open a manual so I can figure out how to use it to its full potential!
