The Day Job

You may have seen a lot of pictures of wolf-men "spirit guides" around in fantasy art lately. Well, here's one at his day job. Not as wise as you'd think, smoking while pumping gas.

Thumbs up

That is funny.
I just love 'fish out of water' subjects (ie: Conan the Barbarian as a Courtroom stenographer or a group of Klingon warriors in a sensitivity training class).

Hi TKeela
He'll huff and he'll puff and he'll blow himself up

This is great.
I like the symbols in the smoke.

Oh I love this. It's great. As for smoking while filling up........ Reminds me of how paranoid I am about my mobile phone ringing while @ a service station. (Scarey)

Great Idea!

i love images where things are taken out of their cliche' environment - especially when they're put in really ordinary situations.

this is an excellent example of that, with lots of nice touches (i like the care you put into making the reflection in the side-view mirror be correct!).

well done - funny and thoughtful!

How funny! Looks like we are glimpsing natural selection at work!
This looks great. What was it made of?

Thanks so much!

It's Prismacolor markers and colored pencil on Bristol board, basically a smooth cardboard. The markers work well as a base, then you can add detail with the colored pencils.

Love the humor and contrast of reality vs. mystical shaman-wolf!

Smile

A funny one, TKeela! As Jana mentioned, the displacement in placing a spiritual character into a mundane, daily life situation is merits a good imagination. The evenness of the layers of colour, and attention to detail was nicely done!
