Photo Frame Doodling Pad

Hi all!

I wanted to share this cute little magnetic sketchbook / doodling pad I picked up at Target. I won't keep posting to the thread, but I just love this little pad and wanted you to see it.

The pad consists of 60 pages of pretty thin paper, only suitable for "throwaway" doodling. BUT, there is about a 2" square cut out of all the pages, with a space to put a photo on the backing board. The cover looks like this:

(that's Jake and me in the snow at Big Bear last Thanksgiving.) All the rest of the pages are blank for you to draw / sketch / doodle on. Here's the only one I have done so far:

It's such a fun idea, I wish I had bought a whole bunch of them for gifts. I will have to look and see if I can find any more. The lable on the back says:

U Loft
Umbra
Umbra LLC
Umbra Design Group

I'm keeping it near my desk so I can doodle while I talk on the phone or wait for really long downloads and such.

Enjoy!

Jean

What a great idea Jean. I've never seen one like this, but yes they would make great gifts. Love it. Thanks for posting.

Jean, that's fun! I like your doodles too. Both of them form very elegant patterns that could easily go on cloth or wallpaper or something.

Jean, this is super!!!! i wish we had these here....

i doodle non-stop. my desk calender looks like a doodle pad - i actually think it's the only thing i write on there.

But this idea is fantastic - you can doodle with a purpose!!

Re: Photo Frame Doodling Pad

Oh look everyone - I found a variation of the sketchbook frame online:

http://www.lumens.com/Umbra/search?a...n=UmbraGoogle2

There are 2 sizes on the above page, both larger than the one I have, but one of them even accommodates a 4" x 6" photo. Mine is called a "mini sketchbook frame" and the ones I found online are all called the "DOODLEBOOK." One is even multicolored. If you just Google doodlebook, there seem to be several sources, so there might be a cheaper option than the link I gave you. I just haven't taken the time to price compare yet.

Thanks for your comments. Hope you can get one or more of these if you want and have fun playing with them.

Re: Photo Frame Doodling Pad

This really gives a nice photo frame look. The design is not new but the style is completely unique and the best part is that you can store several pictures in a single frame. Such a nice frame design, thanks for sharing.
