Giclee printing tips anyone?

Hi - I may have a need to get into giclee prints soon, so I am just curious if anyone here has done that and what their tips are. It seems I remember reading something like the master image will be a tad larger than the print, and possibly getting a color strip to get the best match on the colors, etc. If you've seen any articles in magazines anywhere, let me know that too. Really, and information is helpful. Thanks!

I'd search the Art Business forum too, and look into the Printmaking forum (but that is probably mostly printing yourself).

Or google it, there is *tons* of advice out there, from the printing companies too.

Good luck,

Charlie

Hi - I did try the search before but it didn't seem to be working particularly well. I'll try the other forum, now. Thanks for the info.

Re: Giclee printing tips anyone?

Today's "gilcee" prints are really high quality digital prints on archival papers. The quality of the product depends upon the quality of your digital image that you use to be printed. One place to look and order these prints is: www.iprintfromhome.com If you have any questions, you can call them and they are very helpful. They also have a lot of information on the process right on their website. The image size you get from them can be full size or something that is proportioned correctly to that exact size. They also have various qualities of paper from which you can choose.

You might also inquire in your area for a photographer that has the right equipment, and does this process. I've used both a local and iprintfromhome.

Re: Giclee printing tips anyone?

Hi - Thanks pal - I did find that information from my search afterwards. Last night when I tried the search, it never completed so I don't know what it was doing. Anyway, when I tried it earlier today, I did find a thread with this info.
