Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Hi momma tee,

The best idea with your postage is to put all your cards in their addressed envelopes, and then take them to the Post Office, and they can tell you how much each one will be. It is a little more expensive to send overseas, and you need International stamps for those, but the Post Office will do all of that for you.

Don't forget to scan each card before you send it off, so that you can upload it to the forum after it has been received.

I always put my cards in little plastic sleeves, as it is Winter in Australia where I am, and I'd hate to get any of my cards wet after putting a lot of work in to them. You can also just take a sheet of computer paper and fold it in four, and pop your card in between the folds, and that gives good protection.

You will have so much fun with this Exchange, that you won't be able to wait for the next one to start!!

Enjoy!!

Val.

God point about the scannning Val.

I have posted 10 abstract ATC's today, all international and only within same continent ( Marmsk). They were looking very curious at the post office.

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Thanks for all the good info about the mailing/packaging process. This is my first project too, so I wasn't sure what was preferred. I started my watercolor and acrylic cards last night. I'm happy with the acrylics, but the watercolors are dreadful! I'm not sure I can salvage any of them, but I will try this weekend. I hope to have my cards posted by Monday. This is exciting!

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

I cheated a bit and pm'd Rose with a couple of them beforehand to verify that they were abstracts.

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Aw, you guys.. you'll be fine.. abstracts are supposed to be something that comes from within. It's non-representational, not supposed to look real. That's what I love, you can't be wrong!

Eileen, feel free to send a few to my email

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

I did the same thing, Mona and Marmsk- good thing Rose is patient and kind!

I spent yesterday cleaning out and cleaning up my studio (wa-ah)...it was in such dreadful shape, it still isn't finished!!!
That's okay - I have tomorrow off for Independence Day (even though it's actually today) and I'm going to finish rearranging and PAINT!

I've completed 7 cards and have 3 watercolors to (hopefully) salvage - if not, I'll just start over...in my nice clean art studio! I'd do it today, but we're having company over for lunch after church.

Happy Painting everybody!

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Five left until we are full!
I have 26 ATCs done by now, so I'll be able to pick and only send the good ones.

While waiting for the 10 that I have already sent out to arrive to their destinations, I gave zentangling a try. This is nothing like what I have made for this project, this is definitely abstract . It was kind of zen-relaxing though, I'll probably do a lot more of them.

What us zentangling, Mona? I've seen that term elsewhere, but not sure what it is...?

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Not Mona, but here's a simple zentangle my kid did for 4-H.

It's just drawing organic shapes then divide into 3 parts, (in this case) with straight (I suppose any geometric would work) then she used three primaries to shade each section. autismart
