Viv's A4 Sketchbook/Journal

I've decided I will post sketches from my A4 Sketchbook/Journal.
Most of these will be from the Scavenger Hunts-as I've participated in 10 of these so far and all sketches are from life, not photos.
As the title says - my sketches are on A4 paper (12in x 9in) are on a variety of paper e.g. sketchpaper, watercolour paper, pastel paper etc.
As in my "Changing Seasons Journal", I decided on a loose-leaf format, as it suits me to sketch on lots of different types of paper and I file them in a similar file/book to my other Journal.

This is my cover

And here a some pages from previous Scavenger Hunts:

Thats all for now but I'll post more later.
Hope you enjoy them.
C & Cs welcome

Re: Viv's A4 Sketchbook/Journal

Viv, these are great! My favorite is your granddaughter holding Hayley. I love the way you caught the look on her face and the kitten's head at that angle, the moment before the kitten wiggles and kicks. She looks like she's debating wiggling and kicking versus relaxing and purring -- it's a wonderful moment. Those enormous ears are so cute.

Beautiful primary colors still life too. Everything in these pages is exquisite, you're one of the people I know who sketches better than I do, so I watch what you do to learn.

The cover design is great too. I like the strong colors and clean lines.

I too love that sketch of your granddaughter with the kitten. I like that Jack Russell Terrier too - that's one I hadn't seen before.

Viv, neat that you are doing an Art Journal thread and that you are creating your own sketchbook with various papers! Great idea. I love your horse sketches but agree with Robert that the one your granddaughter with kitten is just lovely.

Re: Viv's A4 Sketchbook/Journal

good sketches

have you ever joined the pages concertina fashion? so they can be turned or opened out? I thinkl it would work well with your different papers.

Re: Viv's A4 Sketchbook/Journal

My latest sketches from Scavenger Hunt 180 - Hosted by "J" Jean

These were my last 3 for this Hunt.
The "backwards and forwards" item was a challenging one and I had to put some thought into what I'd draw for it. I finally came up with "windshield wipers". That's the interesting thing about the Scavenger Hunts, the items can be open to a wide interpretation of ideas - I really enjoy the Hunts.

C & Cs welcome

Hi Viv,

Great work! My favorite is 'Blossom' - I have two (unfortunately officially 'geriatric' now) Labrador Retrievers (one yellow, one chocolate) and immediately identified with Blossom and her kong.
