Deity - Mother Nature

Have been away from WC for a while but wanted to show this one off. Mixture of Derwent Studio and Artist, Faber Castell polychromos and Stabilo softcolour pencils on Reeves pastel paper, approx 28cm x 41cm. I find the photo seems to be highlighting some areas that don't seem so prominent in real life - but it is a fair represenation. Thanks for looking

Another great piece from you, and as usual the foliage detail is wonderful - love all that juicy colour Did you use all dry pencils this time?

Re: Deity - Mother Nature

Thanks everyone, your comments are a lovely morale boost - I have just hung 20 pieces for an exhibition opening today. This is one of them. The theme of the exhibition is words ending with "ity" hence Deity, that led on to wanting to portray Mother Nature - as a younger lady not the older lady I usually picture when I think "Mother Nature".

Timo - you know I can't get away from portraying the pretty ladies! I think I need to find a new subject matter LOL!
Lexycat - funny when I did my artist statement for the promotional stuff I mentioned "juicy" colours LOL! Yes, this drawing is all dry pencils.
pencilnbrush - I think the polychromos and stabilo pencils help to create that dense saturated colour.
Candle - I am new to doing clothing and fabrics, so pretty pleased with this one. By the way, just come home from a trip to Colorado and I fell in love with the place.........

Re: Deity - Mother Nature

Jackie YEY! I've not been on this forum for like 6 weeks and yours is one of the first I came across! I LOVE your work and can't wait to see if you've posted something new!
I was going to ask you if you had a great time in Colorado, glad you did!
Oh and by the way... I don't think you need new subject matter, unless you want to that is... cause I love the ladies that you do and you have a style unlike anyone else! Keep on doing what you're doing....!
