Hails from Canada
Ahoy!

Hi, here are a few 6x8 PA sketches from the earlier in the week. I've been on a bit of a boat binge lately , as we've been treated to some fantastic sunny weather (albeit a bit windy by the water!). These are both from Queens Quay west in downtown Toronto. The first if of "Seaspell" a nice little sailboat basking in some dazzling light. The second was from the fire rescue pier.. and of some type of utility fire boat (pushing the limits of the Winsor Red I had at hand!! We went with "straight from the tube" ). Had some great machinery in the BG that I've tried to suggest.. but if I could do it again, I prolly would've incorporated more of it into a better design for the painting. Any C&c very welcome,

thanks for lookin'! cheers, Mike!

I like your brush strokes and how fresh they feel.

Re: Ahoy!

I like how you spread a little of that red around in the painting. I guess the water was choppy, but, what do you think of a few hints of the red boat reflecting in the water? Maybe too much red...

HI Micheal..
I feel that your palette and technique in both cases
is very effective for the subject matter. Nice !
