Girl in a hat

This is what I've been working on today. I envision her sitting at a little league ball game, telling the pitcher to do something. What do you think? The scan is a little bit wonky, sorry about that. It is from my sketch pad.

Hi Midge .. yes, I can see your vision in this. The hat seems a bit small though.

Re: Girl in a hat

I increased the size of the hat. Thank you both for your comments.

The viewer's right eye looks too far to the right.
I like your vision. Keep working on it, adding more shading, etc.

Nice pose and composition, Midge. Just check the (our) left side of the mouth. It could be a wee bit shorter. Whenever you do an angled profile try get into the habit of consciously thinking about foreshortning the features on the other side of the nose.

Re: Girl in a hat

overall great work. everyone seems to be right though... all the facial feature just seem off a tad bit to me... something about her far cheek and the depth of the closer eye in relation to the nose is throwing me off i think. I really like this though. keep it up

Re: Girl in a hat

This is a real cute eye catchy picture that's got a lot going for it. I don't know who she's communicating with but the character is "talking" quite nicely. She's just waiting for a few adjustments...
