Plant Parade : April 2010

If anyone would like to host a Plant Parade, here's The Schedule Thread - please add your preferred month and I'll keep the list in post#1 updated. Thank you!

********************************

It's Spring and April is here! (With apologies to our friends downunder!)

This month we're concentrating on daffodils - preferably a single flower piece.

Picking up on a comment in last month's thread, the idea this month is to create a 'quilt' of blooms and all the single blooms (with good light) are from the RIL. As always, you may work from life if preferred.

Works may, be in any medium - and if there are any 3D creators out there who can interpret this challenge, we'd be delighted to have you join us! One restriction this month is to ask you each to work on a square format - any size is OK, I'll convert all for the final display

If there is anyone who would like to create a border pattern from the daffodils or leaves, that would be good too! If you could make your design an oblong, double square format please, that would be great! - e.g 3x6 or 4x8 etc.

I will still do a 'normal' gallery at the end of the month but also the 'quilt' - might be nice!

Our reveal date for our Daffydowndillies is 25th April.

Beautiful reference photos Maureen! Love daffodils, they always speak of Spring (which is a long way away for us in NZ). I like the idea of a Daffodil quilt, it should look amazing with everyone's paintings in it. Great idea.

Sounds good, Maureen!

(I'm unable to view the images with those links. It keeps saying I'm not logged in. I tried simply clicking on the links, which open new tabs in my browser, and then I tried again by right-clicking and selecting to open in new tabs in my browser. Is this a cache/cookie issue?)

I am in too! The daffodils outside have been screaming out to me for a while now, and these are lovely references. Yay!

Re: Plant Parade : April 2010

Ooooh - good to have such a positive response! Thank you ladies

Elaine - my sister and BiL are having their Golden Anniversary on 16th - good month for weddings - their son and DiL celebrate 11 years on 18th -

If anyone else has the same probs EP mentions - please try this link - it's to My Favourites folder but not sure whether you can access or not!

If they're still unavailable I'll put the images as well as the links in.

The problem is a nuisance - it happens to me too, and others - and I've reported it.

Interesting idea Maureen, and the link is working now, but the link to Your Favorites goes to My Fav. (my own fav.)
Single flower piece, oh OK.
