Jorge beautiful press and great print! A few other people here have built presses, you and they are quite accomplished workmen/women!

I thought the plate was solar, it looks so much like a photo.

Re: My new homemade etching press.

The press and print are beautiful
Did you have plans/schematic for the press or did you come up with the design yourself?

Re: My new homemade etching press.

Thanks Bridog!

C. painter:
The press was made without plans, it's a very simple design, the rollers are recicled, as well as the steering wheel, the others were bought in home depot in a 95%, and bearings were recicled too.

I don't have plans/schematic of the press but photos of the construction process can be watched in this link:

Thanks!

Re: My new homemade etching press.

Thanks for the picture show, Jorge... I especially liked the last one... the celebration of your press!

Is this an art school where you put this together? I also loved the photo of the woman checking out the print...

Re: My new homemade etching press.

All I can say is WOW! Beautiful press and beautiful work. Someday I hope to have enough space (and money) to have a press that size.

As one of the homemade press builders here, I congratulate you on a job well done. Very nice press. You've given me some ideas for my next project.
