Lightbulb Plant Parade Project March 2010

MARCH 2010: Plant Parade project.

Welcome to March's edition of the Floral/Botanical project.

There are few 'rules' - the main one being we do not reveal any work until
25th of the month.
Any medium
Any size.

Since we haven’t painted leaves for a while, now is the time to paint leaves with interesting motifs and colours.
Use any one or more of these photos shown below here and at RIL or PICASA :
Crop, enlarge, miniaturize, simplify, and exaggerate ... whatever you wish, but make your main focus

CALADIUM

Most of my photos are from a few years back and indoor, so some are a bit blurry.
You could find them with higher resolutions in RIL and in Picasa

Hope you could join us in this month’s project and have time for fun.
So start early but post it/them on the 25th

Thanks so much Dewi - lovely variations on these leaves - possibilities of good abstracts too

Great challenge! And those leaves are just as colourful as flowers, even more so maybe. I'm away for a week from the 6th but will knuckle down on my return.

Dewi - I was just looking at Caladium references the other day. Wonderful that they are this months subject. Thank you! - Nan

Me too! Agree also with Maureen there are great abstract possiblities.

I've tried growing these plants and had no success. Perhaps they are not the species for me?

Re: Plant Parade Project March 2010

Hi everyone; glad you like them too, thank you.
Yes, nice abstract too and I think I could guess what that would be Bonnie
I have no idea yet, wish I have acrylic inks.
EP, it died easily if we give too much water (maybe), the original and not expensive one are easy to grow, they are everywhere, I might try to grow it again.

Dewi,
I also would like to join in the project. I've actually tried these twice before without much luck. Third time might be the lucky number. Thank you for the time you spent putting this project together. annielu

Re: Plant Parade Project March 2010

Lovely leaves, Dewi. If I fix the color on my new scanner/printer, I'll join. I should have it done by the end of the week, with my daughter's finger power for removing the ink...just couldn't remove those tiny hard to reach ink packets....with my older fingers.
