Re: Figurative Works

I really love this- the unusual composition and colour/contrast choices are very appealing!

Wow, what an entrance. Looked at your website and enjoyed Shower very much too. I hope you post more.

Re: My figurative work

That is a truly poignant work, Patrick. I echo Tina's sentiments about your 'entrance' Welcome to the forum

Somehow, I can imagine this painting on a gigantic canvas, say 20 - 25 ft wide. I think its appeal can only increase if the size is magnified.

PS - I have also merged your two identical threads so that the responses could be in one place

Lovely use of those violet blues in the skin tones Patrick, and welcome to the figure forum Dave

Re: Figurative Works

Freesail: thanks for the comment

WV.Artistry: thanks for the welcome. I think I'm gonna like this forum.

Kevinwueste: I wanted the mood of the lighting to contrast with the tight position of the body. Thanks for the comment.

bethanyt: Thanks, I certainly search for ideas that seem fresh.

joolee: Thanks for the comment. Yes, my website is patrickszucs.com

TinaC: Thanks for checking out my site. The painting you like is actually titled "Tile" not Shower; my sister runs my site and she put in the working title. I'm glad you liked it.

roy-p: Yeah, my friend Nick keeps trying to get me to paint way bigger, but right know I'm painting in a room that has a 6'7" ceiling (oh my lower back), so it'll be a while before that happens. Thanks for the advice; Also thanks for the merging of my threads, I posted the first one and couldn't see it.

journeyman: thanks for the welcome Dave and the crit of my colors.

Re: Figurative Works

Striking colours and yet the contrast makes a linear impact. Super stuff.

Beautiful works, I especially like the second painting. It has a lot of character to it. He has body to him, feels like someone I could know.
